What twinkles in the milky way (Imagery) It lets you imagine
what I describe and see)
Yet lies besides the lake and between the trees
(Imagery) It lets you imagine what I describe and see)
(Imagery) It lets you imagine what I describe and see)
And flutters in the breeze
( Imagery) It lets you imagine what I describe and see)
( Imagery) It lets you imagine what I describe and see)
it is everywhere in
my rhyme (Imagery)
But what has to be
limited only to Time. (Analyzed
figurative language)
Time is a valuable thing (metaphor) Time actually has no
cost of money it is not expensive
depend on how you use it some people are lame
They say your life passes before your eyes
So don't choose a lie you'll regret and that gives you your last sorrow cries
so don’t do nothing as the clock rings ,
They say your life passes before your eyes
So don't choose a lie you'll regret and that gives you your last sorrow cries
so don’t do nothing as the clock rings ,
make use of your time as the pendulum swings
be warned time is thief(metaphor)Time is not actually a
thief.
time steals the moments
right out of your teeth (simile)Time does not physically rip
moment out of your teeth
so enjoy the time you have
worrying how much time you have can kill you in its grief.
Hyperbole, because its an over exaggerated phrase such as time killing you in
grief which is impossible and not literal.
Time sneaks in your house. Personification time can’t really
sneak in your house.
Time is as sneaky and devious as a mouse.(Simile)
Time is as sneaky and devious as a mouse.(Simile)
But don't soak in times sorrow
Because there is always a fresh clean Tomorrow
That is The thing about time you can always start over
and keep an borrow a new day over an over
My Poem i wrote is about hope it describes when you feel like everything is lost for good there is always a new day to change your past mistakes and to start over.
Summer Grass
by Carl Sandburg
Summer grass aches and whispers (Personification:This line in the poem describes the inanimate object "grass" as if it were living with feeling of aches and whispers which in reality its just the breeze going through the grass.)
It wants something: it calls and sings; it pours (personification: Its referring the grass to be singing calling and wanted as if it were human with human emotions)
out wishes to the overhead stars. Personification: summer grass can not wish and do human related things)
The rain hears; the rain answers; the rain is slow. Personification: the rain can not sing hear or answer like a human being.
coming; the rain wets the face of the grass.personification: Rain does not listen to summer grasses needs or commands and obeys summer grass and rain don't actually communicate like humans making it personification.
I think the poem "Summer Grass" poem was personification well for one example the grass aches and whispers, grass is an inanimate object it can not actually have human living emotion, and feeling such as aching and whispering. Also sentences like it wants something,it calls,it sings,it pours which in reality grass doesn't relate to human emotions so that would also be personification, and in fact the next three sentences out wishes to the over head stars, and "The rain hears; the rain answers;the rain is slow, Coming: the rain wets the face of the grass".SO those sentences are personifications because inanimate objects in nature such as grass and rain don't wish or have human feeling or even humane conversations with one and other where there confused or even asking a question or even demanding it.
